David L. Darrah

Morrisville-David L. Darrah, 76, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side following a lengthy illness on Thursday, November 20, 2014. He was born October 25, 1938 in Burlington, the son of William and Dorothy Bailey Darrah. He married Barbara Ann Taft on October 26, 1958 in Morrisville.

David had been employed by Atlas Plywood for a number years before working at Stowe Canoe and Tubbs Snowshoes from which he retired in 2005. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and camping with his children and was an accomplished woodworker.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; their children, Robin Reen and husband, Joseph of Westminster, CO; David Lee Darrah, Jr. and fiancée, Elaine Ingerson of Stowe; and Timothy Darrah and wife, Flavia of Mendoza, Argentina; grandchildren Jennifer Graham, Johnathan Griggs, Brenden Boyle, Sophia Darrah and Mia Darrah and great-grandchildren Della Rose Graham, James Gabriel “Jude” Graham and Darius Murphy Griggs; his siblings, Norman Darrah and wife, Lillian of Putney; and Carlene Starr of Deland, FL; sister-in-law, Betty Darrah of Essex Center and nieces and nephews.

David was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Beverly Roscoe and a brother, William Darrah, Jr.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Morrisville. Faith Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
