Florence L. Draper

Hyde Park-Florence L. Draper, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Copley Hospital in Morrisville with her family by her side. She was born July 28, 1924 in Newport, the daughter of John and Marie Brisson Daniels.

Florence spent at least the first 20 years of her married life on a dairy farm on the Randolph Road. While her husband took care of the farm, Florence raised her 4 children and also took care of a number of elderly folks in her home. They later sold that farm and moved to another farm in Hyde Park. Florence loved gardening, tending to her flowers and cooking. She was an animal lover and always had a pet or two by her side. She loved having her many children, grandchildren and friends visit. Her home was the gathering place for all the family that meant so much to her. She always made everyone feel special, despite having so many to remember. Her passing will leave an empty spot in many lives. She will be greatly missed.

Florence is survived by her children, Linda Miller and husband, Alan of Constable, NY; Richard Draper and wife, Sharon of Elmore and Rita Phelps and husband, Dale of Hyde Park; grandchildren, George, John and wife Marie, Izaak, Lindzey & husband Ryan, Chelsea, Wendy & husband Eric, Marcel & wife Michelle, Spencer, Katrina & husband Michael , Cindy & husband Richard and Garett; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Aurora, Gabe, Bruce, Michael, Justin, Kevin, Wesley, Jennifer, Jacob, Malcolm, Elexus, Taigyn, Harlow, Christopher, Joshua, Erica & husband Bowie, Hanna, Eliza & husband Josh, Donovan, Rhianna, Lydia, Charlotte, Elliott, Shylo & husband Trevor, Brandon and Justin; great-great grandchildren, Lyric, Brewer, Lennon, Zephyr, Kaylin, Amelia, Iyla and Cameron and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Delbert Draper; a son, Philip Draper; grandsons, Paul Draper and Nigel Draper and ten brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Church in Hyde Park. Interment will be in the spring in Randolph Road Cemetery. Faith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Florence’s memory may be made to Lamoille Home Health & Hospice, 54 Farr Avenue, Morrisville, VT 05661 or Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1427, Morrisville, VT 05661.
