Robert C. Barnes

Hyde Park-Long time Hyde Park resident, Robert C. Barnes, passed away peacefully in his home on December 5, 2014 at 97 years of age. He was the son of the late Walter and Antoinette (Cihlar) Barnes of Hyde Park. He was the grandson of Robert Barnes, a Hyde Park Civil War drummer.

Robert loved to be outdoors. He chopped his wood until he was 91 and continued to help throw and stack his winter wood until he was 96. He is survived by several distant relatives throughout the United States.

A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Hooper Cemetery in Hyde Park and will be announced. Contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, 300 Cornerstone Drive, Suite 128, Williston, VT 05495 or by going to www.alz.org/vermont.
