Marilyn Diamond

Hyde Park-Marilyn Diamond, 89, died peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Forest Hill Residential Care Home in Hyde Park. She was born June 1, 1925 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of Robert and Sadie Lipsman Gorcey. She married Charles Diamond who predeceased her in February 2002 after 54 years of marriage. Marilyn has been a resident of Vermont for 12 years moving here from Tucson, Arizona.

Marilyn was very social and enjoyed hosting gatherings for family and friends. She was an avid reader and also loved to cook, knit & paint. She especially loved spending time with her only grandchild; Justin. She also enjoyed outings to the opera.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Derderian and husband, Paul of Gilbert, AZ and Mitchell Diamond and wife, Elaine of Morrisville; a grandson, Justin Diamond; a brother Jack Gorcey and wife, Sandy of Queens, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Charles and a sister, Lenore Ennis.

Services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Stowe.
