Helen M. Clark

Hyde Park: Helen Mary Clark, 95, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015 at her home, with her loving family by her bedside. She was born March 22, 1919 in St. Johnsbury, VT, the daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Holbrook) Davis. She attended public schools in Hyde Park and continued her education at the University of Vermont. On September 7, 1940 she married David Lambert Clark on the Charles Davis Farm in Hyde Park. Helen was a loving stay at home mother to four children, and established long-term homes for her family in Louisville, KY and Hyde Park, VT. She was an avid contributor to the communities in which she lived, via school, church, local volunteering, Red Cross, etc. Throughout her life Helen enjoyed many activities, such as knitting, embroidery, cooking, baking, and entertaining. She was an avid bridge player/teacher and enjoyed reading, playing games, gardening, and spending time with her family. During her recent years in Vermont, she was a beloved member of The Second Congregational Church in Hyde Park. Survivors include three sons: John R. (Judy) Clark of Hyde Park; James C. (Nancy) Clark of Ann Arbor, MI., and Jeffrey A. (Debbie) Clark of Mesa, AZ.; a sister Corella R. Gray of Hyde Park; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren: John R. (Rocio) Clark and their children, Sophia and Forrest; Jason D. (Sarah) Clark and their children, Zachary and Alessandra; Kristen M. (Dean) Clark and daughter Jade; Kelley F. (John) Clark and daughter Nicole; Andrea L. (Roger) Gagnon and son Drew Palsha; and Christopher M. (Jessica) Clark and son Ronin, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, David, and a daughter, Jo-Anne Clark Jenkins (Ms. Kentucky, 1967). A memorial service and reception will be held at 2 PM, on Sunday March 22, 2015 at The Second Congregational Church in Hyde Park, with the Rev. Michael Ford officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
