Janice Wedge Woodard, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on May 29,2015, in Pensacola Florida. Janice was born on October 12, 1931, in St. Albans, Vt., the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Dow) Wedge. Her parents were both deceased by the time she was two years old, and she was raised by Rowland and Eva Crocker, along with their daughters Elaine, Brenda, and Virginia, of North Hyde Park and Morrisville. Janice was a member of the First Congregational Church of Essex Jct., and started and led a junior choir there from 1967-1970. She also was an alto in the adult choir for many years. In addition to raising a family, Janice worked for many years as a dental hygienist and went on to complete a career with IBM where she retired in the mid 1990's. Janice moved to Essex Jct. in 1992 and lived there until 2010 when she moved to Pensacola, FL, to be close to her daughter Carolyn and her family. Janice was a loving, selfless, giving, mother and grandmother. She loved music, her church, and her “rescue” beagles. Her family knew that Mom made the best apple pie in the world, along with other delicious sweets that she treated them to over the years. Janice was predeceased by her son Thomas Woodard, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Chong), Robin (Hee), son and daughter-in-law Brian and Gloria, her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Duaine Arnold, and her former husband, Thomas Woodard, Sr. She also leaves her grandchildren Stacey (Dave) Cantu, Erica (Chong), Nicole (Hee), Nicholas, Emily, and Jayme Arnold, as well as her great grandchildren Aiden, Evan, and Caleb Cantu. Services will be on Tuesday, June 9, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Congregational Church, 39 Main St., Essex Jct. There will be a reception following the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Morrisville, VT.
