Ruth M. Baker
Hyde Park-Ruth M. Baker, 76, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Forest Hill Residential Care Home in Hyde Park. She was born May 16, 1939 in Stowe, the daughter of Dwight and Ruby Brink Wiltshire. She married Douglas K. Baker in November 1968. Together they raised two sons and lived on farms around the area.
Ruth also worked at the Manor Nursing Home for many years. She and Doug also delivered “Meals on Wheels” in their early retirement. Ruth enjoyed country music, playing cards, playing Bingo and going to church on Sunday. She was a member of the United Christian Society Church in Belvidere.
Ruth is survived by two sons, John and wife, Misty of Morrisville; Paul and wife, Holly of Stowe and one grandson, Terrell D. Baker. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas in 2006; a brother, Leon, who died in infancy and her parents.
She is also survived by some very special friends, John Savo, Sr. of Burlington; June McKinley of Elmore; Roland and Joyce Greene of Craftsbury; Betty Foster of Morrisville; Suzan Castor of Essex Junction; and Richard Rickert of Forest Hill Residential Care Home in Hyde Park.
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 13 at 3:00 p.m. at the Faith Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn St. in Morrisville. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
